Benefits
Who Benefits from Knoxville Restaurant Week?
Knoxville Restaurant Week is a great way for customers to try new restaurants, or perhaps ones that they have not visited in a while, and often at a fraction of the normal cost. Restaurants benefit from additional customers during a typically slow time of year.
But the true beneficiaries of this event are the hungry in our community. When you visit one of our 30 participating restaurants, $5 from every Knoxville Restaurant Week meal purchased will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.
Second Harvest distributes food to roughly 158,000 hungry people each month through a network of partner agencies throughout East Tennessee. These agencies, including such notable non-profit organizations as FISH, Salvation Army, Open Arms, CAC and many other non-profits dedicated to feeding the hungry. Many of the nearly 500 agencies from church pantries, shelters, group homes and local kitchens to after-school programs and rehabilitation centers would not be able to operate without the help of Second Harvest.
Second Harvest is committed to eliminating hunger in our 18-county service area by providing food, services and education to address the nutritional needs of all people at-risk of hunger. Knoxville Restaurant Week gives the community a unique opportunity to have your food and share it too.
